What's the difference between the Rolls-Royce UK Pension Fund and the Retirement Savings Trust?
The Rolls-Royce UK Pension Fund is our defined benefit pension scheme. You had to have joined it before it closed to new members on 31 March 2007. After that date, employees joined the Retirement Savings Trust, which is a defined contribution scheme administered for us by Aviva.
I think I'm a member of both schemes. Is that possible?
Yes. When the defined benefit scheme closed to future benefit accrual, current employees joined the defined contributions scheme and will have benefits in both arrangements. You may also have worked for Rolls-Royce more than once and be a member of both schemes. Also, it's possible that you may be receiving a pension following the death of of your spouse or partner while being a member in your own right.
If I'm a member of both schemes, can I see everything under one log-in?
Not right now. As both schemes are administered separately, you'll need to log into them individually. However, links to both schemes' online services are detailed on this site, along with details of who you need to contact to get help.
I receive a monthly pension from Rolls-Royce, which scheme am I in?
You'll be a Rolls-Royce UK Pension Fund member. Whether you're a member in your own right, or receiving a dependant's pension, you can log into your account by clicking on the tab for The Rolls-Royce UK Pension Fund.
I was a member of something called the Top-Up scheme. Where can I find out what I've got in that?
The Top-Up scheme was a section of the Retirement Savings Trust that some members of the Rolls-Royce UK Pension Fund had the option to also participate in. If you have a membership in that scheme, click on the tab for The Retirement Savings Trust to find out how to register with the scheme administrator, Aviva.
