Information for IFAs
Members of Rolls-Royce’s defined benefit
pension schemes can access personal information about their pension benefits by logging into their account.
If you are working for one of our members and require information about their
pension scheme, you can request this from us as long as you have written
authority to do so and provide this to us along with your request.
When you send a request for information to us, our
initial response will be issued directly to the scheme member through this website; even if they’ve
provided you with authority to request information on their behalf. We do this to
ensure that the scheme member receives in full the information that the
Trustees want them to see.
When we issue this information to the member, we will send them an email to let them know that the quote is available to download and that they should send the PDF copy to you. Please contact your client directly if you are waiting for the quote as we will not send it directly to you.
If you have any follow-up questions once your client has
provided the quote to you, we’ll be happy to deal directly with you.
The quote contains detailed notes relevant
to their pension benefits. Please ensure that they have provided all of this
information to you. Our transfer values are strictly guaranteed for
three-months and if the transfer is to proceed, all paperwork and
supported documents must be received in our office by the expiry date. Transfer values cannot be secure by sending partially completed transfer discharge forms.
As you will be aware, the member has a right to one
cash-equivalent transfer value in any 12 month period. If an additional transfer value is required within 12 months of a previously issued quote, this can only be requested by the member through their online account.
Our procedure for transferring members
Our procedures
for handling transfers out of the scheme are in place to protect our members from Pensions Scams. Transferring members must complete our pre-transfer information form,
which can be accessed here. This will ask them to provide us with
information about the advice that they’ve received and to confirm they have been made aware of the resources available to protect them from Scams.
It is now a requirement that all transferring members complete this form. If the member cannot complete this online form they must contact us and speak to a member of our administration team to give the information requested.
On
completion they will be able to download a transfer discharge form.
If the
member subsequently wants to proceed with a transfer, we’ll need a transfer discharge form, fully completed by the member, financial adviser, and receiving pension arrangement. We'll also be checking that they have
completed our pre-transfer information form before issuing any payment.
The return address for sending transfer discharge forms can be found on the transfer discharge form. It’s quicker if you email them and
any supporting documents we’ve asked for but please observe the following
conditions:
- keep the scan size below 6Mb
- don't send .zip files as they will be blocked
- don’t send the documents through cloud based file transfer services as we cannot access them
For
transfers to an overseas pension arrangement, the member will also need to
complete and return HM Revenue and Customs form APSS263, which they can do at www.gov.uk.
