Pension equalisation - find out more...

During December, we're writing to around 3,000 of you to update you on the outcome of our pension equalisation project.

If you've received a letter, we want to assure you that it's genuine. Scammers will always ask you to take action quickly, but you don't need to contact us or do anything to receive your amended pension.

That said, if you've received a letter and want to speak to someone, our contact details are included in the letter. You can also use the Contact Us facility on this website.

We're expecting to be very busy and apologise in advance for any delay in answering your call, or replying to your message. Remember, we'll take care of adjusting your pension and paying you any arrears that are due - you don't need to call us for this to happen.

If you're interested in knowing more about the legal background behind pension equalisation, please head to the legislation update section of our 2024 Trustee Newsletter.

Finally, the majority of our pensions were calculated using the same early retirement reductions for both men and women.  These pensions don't need to be equalised and will continue to be paid at the same rate as they are now.
