You've probably used the pensions estimator before, but if it's been a while, here's an overview of what to expect...

You can now get estimates for our standard pension option, bridging pension option, plus full and partial transfer values - all at the date of your choosing. This could be next month, the end of the year, at your normal retirement age or even for late retirement.

When you get to the estimator, just answer the positioning questions, enter the date that you want a quote for and all of the options that are open to you will be displayed. And you can click on each option and start customising it to create your ideal retirement package.

Don't forget to watch the help videos and click on the help links - these have lots of useful information to help you get used to using the new estimator.

The estimator is using your real accurate data in the pensions system, but figures are not guaranteed until you receive a formal quote. If your estimate date is within the next two months, and you meet the criteria for taking your benefits, you'll be able to request a formal quotation for guaranteed figures.

While it's tempting to get a formal quote with guaranteed figures, requesting a formal quote will stop you using the estimator for three months after the date of your quote. So if you're not seriously considering taking your benefits and are just checking out your options, please avoid the temptation to request one. And if you do want to request one, please read the eligibility criteria carefully to make sure you don't request something that you aren't able to act upon.
