Pension Scams and unsolicited pension advisers

We are proud to offer our employees a good level of benefits – but this means that we can be targeted by scammers and unsolicited advisers.

Scammers often approach employees at well-known companies as they typically have good pension benefits.

But if you’re an active or deferred member and are contacted by someone offering a free pension review or an exciting investment opportunity, you should always head to the FCA’s ScamSmart website for help. It’s easy to use and could save you from losing your retirement savings.

You can watch the TV advert below:

Your pensions team at Rolls-Royce have many years of experience in dealing with transfers and are well aware of the pressure that some advisers apply to speed things up. For your protection, if your transfer value is over £30,000, the law requires us to get confirmation from your FCA registered adviser that you’ve had proper advice. And we won’t make any payments until we’re completely satisfied that you want to transfer and have received proof that your adviser and receiving scheme are legitimate.

If you’re unsure about an approach you’ve received, visit the ScamSmart website . And if you suspect a scam or want to report one, click here for the FCA’s information leaflet. This tells you exactly what to do and who to contact, even if you’re already in the middle of a transfer.
